Frequent Questions
How do i pick the right therapist
1
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapy process. Explore our therapists’ bios to learn about their specialties, experience, and approach to counseling, and see who feels like the right fit for you. Our experienced team provides therapy for a wide range of mental health, relationship, and life concerns. If you’re not sure who to choose, we’re happy to help match you with a therapist based on your needs, goals, and preferences. This is part of our onboarding, as the client clinician connection is the most important part of the therapeutic connection.
how do i know i’m making progress?
2
The length of therapy is different for everyone and depends on your individual needs, goals, and progress. Some people come to therapy for short-term support around a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term counseling and deeper therapeutic work. You and your therapist will regularly discuss your goals and progress so that treatment continues to feel meaningful, helpful, and right for you. Ultimately, we are here to support your growth, but what that means is up to you.
What is a parents role when their child is in therapy?
3
Parents and caregivers can play an important role in a child’s progress in therapy. Depending on your child’s age, needs, and treatment goals, your therapist may recommend different levels of parent involvement. This can include learning strategies to support your child at home, strengthening communication, understanding patterns of behavior, and working together toward shared goals. We believe meaningful change often happens both inside and outside the therapy room, and we’ll help you understand how to best support your child throughout the process

Our therapists work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of mental health, including emotional, behavioral, and relationship concerns. Our areas of experience include anxiety, depression, ADHD, shock and complex trauma mood disorders, behavioral concerns, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, and other complex challenges.
We also understand that people are more than a diagnosis. Whether you’re navigating a current crisis, working through experiences from your past, trying to better understand yourself or your relationships, or simply feeling stuck, therapy is tailored to you.
Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are an important part of therapy. The Wright Counseling follows HIPAA privacy requirements, and your information is not shared without your written authorization except in specific situations required or permitted by law.
For children and teens, confidentiality works a little differently. Parents and guardians may have certain rights to information, while your child or teen also benefits from having a safe, private space to talk openly with their therapist. We work with families to clearly explain confidentiality, parent involvement, and any limits to privacy at the beginning of therapy.
Payment & Insurance
What insurance does The Wright Counseling accept?
The Wright Counseling accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Blue Care Network (BCN), Priority Health, and Aetna, as well as private-pay clients. Insurance coverage and benefits vary by individual plan, so we recommend verifying your mental health benefits before beginning therapy.
Can I use out-of-network benefits for therapy?
Yes. If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, you may still have out-of-network mental health benefits that reimburse you for a portion of the cost of therapy. We are happy to provide the documentation you need to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. To learn about your coverage, call the mental health or behavioral health number on the back of your insurance card and ask whether your plan includes out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services. Your insurance company can also tell you about deductibles, reimbursement rates, and any authorization requirements.
What if I am paying for therapy without insurance?
